Our Staff . . .

Stephanie Sickler, owner of Chrysalis Fine Fabrics & Furnishings, is an Assistant Professor and Foundations Coordinator in the Department of Interior Architecture & Design at Florida State University. She holds an MFA in interior design and serves on the Board of Directors for the Interior Design Educators Council. Her interest and experience centers around student success in design education and beyond, as well as materials selections and performance. Stephanie’s work has been recognized at the national and international level and her first book, Soft Goods Guidebook for Interiors was released from Bloomsbury Publishing in October, 2019. B.A. English, Huntingdon College, Montgomery AL 2002 M.F.A. Interior Design, Florida State University, Tallahassee, FL 2009.


Aside from being a wealth of textile knowledge and experience, Stephanie brings industry relationships to the shop, including Kravet, Inc. and Wesley Hall Furniture. Since purchasing the 35 year old local business in 2021, Stephanie and the Chrysalis team have been strategically planning new concepts and designs to meet the ever changing design needs of North Florida and Southern Georgia clients. As always, the main focus is excellent customer service. Chrysalis is more than a designer fabric store – “we really love what we do, and get tremendous satisfaction when we help our customers make their homes more beautiful”. The end result is a warm and friendly atmosphere in which to create the designs of your dreams.


Clarice Secreast grew up in Quincy, FL and graduated from Robert F. Munroe School. She attended the University of Alabama receiving degrees in Family Studies and in Psychology.

Clarice moved to Birmingham, Alabama, married and started a family. While in Birmingham, attended Southern Institute of Design at Virginia College after realizing her continued love for Interior Design. She was employed with Kathy Harris Interiors.

After moving to Tallahassee in 2002, she focused on raising her two daugherts, Page and Alexandria. As a Maclay School parent, Clarice was very involved with school auctions and active in Maclay Parents Organization. With active teens, she was involved with the girls basketball team, serving as President of the Boosters. Joining the design staff at Chrysalis Fine Fabrics in 2015 has afforded her the opportunity to explore creative design and custom installations. Her outgoing charm and attention to detail creates an atmosphere where customers feel comfortable and confident in her design solutions.


Leticia Graves grew up in Mexico City and studied interior design at Instituto de decoración de Interiores. Early in her career she worked as a design assistant for an architect firm. Letty married in 1987 and moved to Florida where she continued in the interior design field at Best Wallpaper in Clearwater, Sherwin Williams in Leesburg FL and Wallpaper it Now in Tallahassee; all while she and her husband Gary were raising 2 daughters, Marcie and Julia.

When the girls were grown Letty joined the team at Chrysalis Fine Fabrics. Through the years she became an exceptional professional seamstress/fabricator. Her own business ‘Artela Home Fashions’ served various local Designers. Letty has a passion for fabrics, textiles and color. Her expertise shows best in custom roman shades and drapery hardware. Letty’s warm and friendly personality along with her design expertise offer customers the perfect setting to create beautiful design projects for their homes.


Linda Matthew has worked in the design business in Tallahassee for over twenty-two years. She started working in furniture sales and design consultation for two local furniture businesses. This sparked her love for interior design. Linda enjoys the challenge of using fabrics, textures, patterns and color together to create beautiful and functional spaces for her clients
Linda is the mother of three and grandmother to five. She loves Tallahassee and enjoys local cuisine and time with family and friends at the beach. Linda loves travel abroad — especially France, England and Scotland. You’ll find her in the shop usually on Tuesday and Thursday, but feel free to call for an appointment.
